Top Paris attractions

Montmartre: Centre of the historical Parisian art world, Montmatre is the highest hill to be found in Paris. It was home to Bohemian movement in the early 20th century and is forever associated with the likes of Picasso, Renoir, Monet and Van Gogh. Today, art is still very much alive, as are the symbols of Montmatre's rural past. Many describe it as the last great village within the city, the Moulin de la Galette windmill standing as testament to its countryside roots. Montmatre is easily found from most parts of Paris - just look for the gleaming white basilica - Sacré-Coeur - that stands atop the hill.

Le Marais: Covering the 3rd and 4th districts of

Paris, Le Marais is pre-revolution France at its best. Alongside the River Seine grand mansions and private hotels sporting some of the best architecture in Paris, crowd the streets. Art galleries and world-class restaurants are all the rage here, while its most famous landmark is without doubt the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Le Louvre: What would a visit to Paris be without a walk around the famous Le Louvre? 35,000 works of art can be found in the Le Louvre, including (of course) the Mona Lisa.

Ile de la Cite: This small island in the middle of the River Seine was the birthplace of Parisian civilisation. Evidence of occupation here dates back to the 3rd century BC, its location providing enormous strategical advantages to all those who lived here. Amazing views of the Notre Dame Cathedral can be had from Ile de la Cite.

Eiffel Tower: One of the most famous landmarks in the world, the Eiffel Tower was once the tallest building on Earth. Spectacular views of the city and beyond can be enjoyed from the top of the tower, while midway up is the famous Jules Verne Restaurant.
